The best insect repellent is hot pepper wax

Some of the world’s most potent pesticides come from plants themselves, and these botanical pesticides have been in the gardener’s arsenal for hundreds of years.  Hot-pepper wax is a botanical product used primarily as an insect repellent. The blend of capsaicin and food-grade paraffin wax is a metabolic stimulant for many soft-bodied insects. Hot-pepper wax acts to repel pests for up to three weeks.

Hot Pepper Wax Insect Repellent

Hot Pepper Wax Insect Repellent is a natural garden/greenhouse spray repellent and insecticide. It is proven effective against aphids, spider mites, white flies, cabbage loppers and beet army worms for 2 weeks or longer. The chief active ingredient, CAPSAICIN, is an extract from cayenne pepper. It's harmless to humans - in fact, it's as edible as the sauce on barbecued Buffalo wings. For years, organic gardeners have experimented with hot-pepper home remedies against every pest, from aphids to squirrels. Hot Pepper Wax borrows from the best of their wisdom ... and takes it one step further.
